How We Work

The KDI Process:

  1. Schedule your complimentary 20 minute phone consultation to review design service options and for us to answer any questions you might have about the process. Select a design service package, agree to terms and conditions and complete payment.
  2. Email us an architectural floor plan of your space with dimensions (see example) OR send us photos of your kitchen – We will send you back the photos with notes indicating what dimensions we need. (see example)
  3. Complete our customer wish list and checklist (we will review these in depth with you over the phone, but it doesn’t hurt to get a head start)
  4. Optional: Browse our gallery and bookmark and/or make notes on anything you see you like or don’t like
  5. We will contact you to schedule your first design consultation.

What to expect (once payment received and terms of service agreed upon):

  • A follow-up consultation for in-depth review of the layout drawings.

Terms of Services:

  • Cabinetry layout: The cabinetry dimensions on the plans provided by KDI are meant to be used only as a guide and should not be considered final for ordering cabinetry. It is the Owner’s is responsibility (through the cabinet supply company) to confirm final cabinet dimensions to be used for the cabinet order.
  • Appliances: KDI will provide suggested plan for appliances based on information given to them by the Owner. The location, sizes, and clearances, as shown on drawings, represent a guide only. It is the responsibility of the Owner to review code compliance and field conditions with the general contractor prior to ordering cabinetry, appliances, and fixtures and prior to beginning renovation work. Layout designs that change the locations of existing appliances could result in additional construction costs. It is the Owner’s responsibility to review these changes and costs with their general contractor. The Owner is responsible for verifying final appliance selection and specifications and proper clearance sizes with cabinet supply company and general contractor.
  • Lighting layout: KDI may provide a suggested electrical plan. The location and quantity of electrical items, as shown on drawings, represent a general guide only and do not satisfy code compliance. Final locations and quantities may vary due to field conditions and buildings code requirements. KDI is not the “design professional” as to electrical building code requirements. It is the Owner’s responsibility (through the architect, electrical contractor or general contractor) to verify that electrical work meets all local building code requirements.
  • Payment Method: All Major Credit Cards, checks (once cleared), Cashiers check (made out to Kitchen Design Services)
  • Cancellation: The Owner understands that KDI takes immediate steps upon approval of these Terms and Services and upon receiving payment. Therefore, the design service selected is not subject to cancellation by the Owner for any reason.
